Spreadsheets Weren't Built for Client Sessions
You know the drill. A shared Google Sheet with manual formulas. Balances that don't update. No way to show a client what happens if they pay an extra £50 a month. And definitely nothing you'd put your name on.
DebtRiot is a debt planning tool for professionals who are not FCA-regulated debt advisers - money coaches, financial wellbeing practitioners and frontline support staff among them. Enter debts, compare strategies side by side, present the plan on screen, and export a report your client takes home.
Three Steps. One Session.
Enter
Add your client's debts - balances, rates, minimums. APR or EAR adjusts based on the debt type you select, including 0% promotional periods and overdraft compounding.
Compare
See five repayment strategies side by side - Avalanche, Snowball, two hybrids, and Cash Flow Index - with months to clear, total interest, and a full payment schedule for each.
Present
Switch to presentation mode, walk your client through the plan on screen, then export a PDF and spreadsheet they take home.

Every UK Debt Type, Handled
Credit cards, overdrafts, store cards, personal loans, car finance, payday loans - enter them all in one place. Choose the debt type and the rate field adjusts - APR for credit cards and loans, EAR for overdrafts - so compounding is calculated correctly without you having to think about it. Add 0% promotional periods and the plan adjusts when the rate kicks in. One-time snowflake payments slot in too.

Five Strategies. Full Schedule.
Your client sees exactly how each strategy plays out - months to debt-free, total interest paid, and what each one costs against a minimum-only baseline. The tool compares; your client chooses. Once they pick one, the full month-by-month payment schedule appears below: every debt, every payment, every CLEARED milestone. The interest comparison chart makes the trade-offs obvious at a glance.

Present the Plan, Not a Spreadsheet
Presentation mode strips the workspace down to a clean, client-facing view. Walk through payments, quick wins, freed cash, what-if scenarios, and the minimum-only comparison - all from a frosted toolbar at the bottom of the screen. A session timer runs in the corner. Your client sees a professional plan. You stay in control of the conversation.

"What If I Pay More?"
The freed cash cascade shows your client exactly where money goes when a debt clears - rolling into the next one automatically. It is the snowball effect made visible. Then run what-if scenarios together: add an amount, and the months and interest recalculate live from your client's actual debts. No estimates, no rules of thumb.

The Number That Changes Minds
Minimum payments only, or a structured plan? The comparison shows the exact difference in pounds and months, calculated from your client's own debts rather than an average. The stacked area chart below shows every balance shrinking to zero month by month. Motivation they can see.

Follow-Up Sessions That Actually Track
Load a previous plan, enter updated balances, and the tool compares original against current - per debt, with colour-coded progress bars. You will see exactly what has been paid off, what has changed, and whether new debts have appeared. Your follow-ups pick up where the last session left off.

The freed cash cascade shows your client exactly where money goes when a debt clears — rolling into the next one automatically. It's the snowball effect made visible. Then run what-if scenarios together. An extra £50 a month might save months and hundreds in interest. An extra £200 could cut the timeline dramatically. Let the numbers do the motivating — they're calculated live from your client's actual debts.

Minimum payments only? The total interest could be tens of thousands more than following a structured plan. A Report Worth Putting on the Fridge
One click generates a PDF your client takes home. Page one is the plan summary - debt-free date, this month's payments, and what-if scenarios in a clear, scannable layout. Pages two and three cover the full debt table and payment schedule. Every export carries the educational disclaimer automatically, and a spreadsheet version comes with it.
Built for UK Debt, Not Retrofitted
Most debt tools are American afterthoughts. DebtRiot is built for the UK market - handling the details that matter here.
