Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. DebtRiot is an information and planning tool. It runs mathematical simulations based on the numbers entered — it does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice and is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Users should seek independent regulated debt advice where appropriate.
-
Credit cards, overdrafts, personal loans, car finance, store cards, and any other debt with a fixed balance and interest rate. Overdrafts use EAR (Effective Annual Rate). All other debt types use APR. 0% promotional rates with expiry dates are also supported.

No. All debt figures, strategy choices, and repayment calculations remain in the browser for the duration of the session. Nothing is transmitted to DebtRiot servers. Coaches can save and reload plans using a session code — the plan data stays on the coach's device, not on our servers.
-
Session mode for running live client sessions, presentation view, branded PDF export, what-if scenarios, progress tracking, and a coach directory listing. All plans are generated locally — no client data is ever processed by DebtRiot.
-
Nothing that identifies an individual. No name, no email, no financial data, no IP address. The only data collected is anonymous aggregate counts — how many sessions were started, how many plans were completed, which strategies were selected. This data cannot be used to identify anyone.
-
Yes. A UK GDPR Article 28 Data Processing Agreement is included as standard with every subscription and pilot. It is provided before deployment and a countersigned copy is retained by both parties.
-
For a pilot, typically 48 hours from request to your branded link being live. No IT integration is required. We set up the subdomain, admin dashboard, and DPA, and provide onboarding support.
-
The pilot does not auto-renew. At the end of the three-month period, access stops unless you choose to continue with a paid subscription. All data associated with your organisation is deleted on request, confirmed in writing within five business days.
